Brand Your School with Social Media

With school of choice, students have the freedom to choose any high school they like; regardless of where they live. That said, it becomes the job of the administration and faculty to market their school. Just like in business, education leaders have to build a brand.

Considering the amount of time that young people spend on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, why not use social media as a branding tool? It is the fastest and most cost effective way for a school to let the public know what is happening there.

Schools can post a number of things such as: class projects, spirit events, athletic contests, visual and performing art, information about ELL programs, career pathways just to name a few.

Let’s face it, in the 21st century social media is what young people are looking at. We have to meet them where they are to get our message out. Using social media as a branding tool has proven to work in big business, it’s time that schools follow suit.
